With my charming interpreter
She works for the Army and she is the French translator. She met us at the USS Pueblo, and 2 days later, at the Museum of War.
She is charming and has the most lovely accent. Her vocabulary is 1930’s military French. She speaks of imperialism, puppet governments, the plight of the oppressed and castigations under the feudal system.
I am there as a French citizen, not an American citizen. The tone is definitely “us vs. them” (“them” being: (1) the Americans? (2) the Imperialists? (3) the Oppressors of the masses? (4) the Capitalists who put pressure on their government to have a war because they want to keep their factories busy?).
As for the “us” part, let’s see tomorrow…
