Nepalese delicacy

The Nepali love their rice this way. The grains have been beaten and flattened down to pieces which look like wood chips to me. The chips are served as they are here, raw and all. I understood this at the Diwali meal that I had the pleasure of sharing with a lovely family in the outskirts of Kathmandu.
