The DMZ!

For me and for everyone there, the visit is momentous.
We feel the gravity, the importance of the place as we arrive at the visitor staging area. There is excitement and a bit of apprehension, even among the Chinese tourists. My UK friends are here, and we all feel more secure being together. Our male guides chat happily with their friends; female guides have changed into traditional Korean dress for the occasion. Lieutenant General Soung Djeung Cheul is ready for his briefing. He will accompany us into the zone, to the 18th parallel. He is now telling us on what to expect inside the De-Militarized Zone.
