Off to Kaeson
Kaeson is south. Tomorrow we’ll be at the DMZ (DeMilitarized Zone), but in the meantime we spend the night in Kaeson, a former imperial city of Korea.
The government wisely decided to leave alone the central part of town, and these homes are all quite old, with beautiful roof tiles, turned up eaves and white-washed walls. I’m staying in a “Korean-style” inn and tonight I will sleep on a futon laid out on a heated floor. A treat for me, a cross to bear for some. It’ll be quaint and just like in the old times.
PS. I do have a bathroom with toilet, bath and… cold water. So, no shower tonight.
